Just a Blip - Podcast
On the 20th of January I was lucky enough to take part in the recording of a podcast on Dublin Digital Radio. I have a strong passion for music and I love performing, so I was really looking forward to the occasion.
I got to grips with the equipment fairly quickly, but, after listening back to the podcast, we did mess up a few things.
The experience was a first for both me and the host because this had been a "one man show" up until now, and with more than one person, some complications arise. For about 15 minutes during the program we left the microphone on when songs were being played. With one person presenting this wouldn't be much of an issue because all you'd potentially here in the background is some rustling of paper and records, or the whir of the various equipment in the room. In our case, we started talking when the songs were playing, thinking we turned the microphone off. Unfortunately you can hear voices in the background of the tracks, but this is a mistake I'll definitely learn from.
I also feel I underestimated the occasion a little bit and I could've said a bit more about the music I was presenting.
Overall, it was a very good learning experience that I am very proud of.
